“There is no place for racism and hatred in a nation built by immigrants for generations,” he said.

Blinken also urged Chinese students to continue coming to the US to pursue graduate studies in science and technology.

The secretary reminded that 100,000 student visas were issued in just four months of last year.

MESSAGE TO THE CONGRESS.

The head of US diplomacy has called on the US Congress to fund research and development in areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology and quantum computing, confront the Chinese Communist Party, which will seek technological leadership in these areas, and spread “undemocratic values”. .

Reminding the rise of China from eighth to second place, Blinken said, “We used to be first in the world in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from research and development. Now we are ninth.”

Blinken’s speech was dominated by the idea of ideological rivalry between two “global powers” who share the responsibility of leading the world as they are the planet’s main economies.

Therefore, the Foreign Minister said that the nations “have to come to terms with each other”.

Blinken assured that the goal of the United States is not to change China’s system of governance, but to show that America is “better”.

The head of US diplomacy was particularly critical when he spoke of respect for human rights in the Asian country, the concentration camps for Muslims in Xinjiang, the campaign against democratic institutions in Hong Kong, and “provocations” against Taiwanese officials.

In addition, Blinken criticized China for its proximity to Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.

TAIWAN POLICY.

Recently, the US government has repeatedly warned of the possibility of the Chinese regime ordering military action against Taiwan.

Regarding the island, which China sees as part of its territory, Blinken assured that there is no change in America’s stance.

Therefore, there is no favorable position for the independence of the region, as any differences between the leaders of the continent are expected to be resolved peacefully.

The statements came days after US President Joe Biden said the country would provide Taiwan with more military support to Ukraine than was offered.

Blinken assured the Americans that they were determined to provide the island with the “necessary military capabilities” to defend itself, but added that everything possible would be done to prevent a voluntary or involuntary conflict in the area.
