“We will not send to Ukraine rocket systems that can attack Russia,” Biden told reporters.

The American media reported that after Congress approved an additional $40 billion in aid to Ukraine, Washington is preparing to deliver long-range multi-barrel rocket systems to Kiev.

However, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby did not confirm the deployment of the MLRS M270, a highly mobile weapon with a range of up to 300 kilometers.

Kyiv also asked the USA for a second type of system: M142 Himars with a range of 70 to 150 kilometers, far superior to the M777 howitzer batteries currently supplied to Kiev, with an effective range of up to 40. kilometer.

As we enter the fourth month of the war, Russian forces are advancing towards the eastern Luhansk region and constantly bombarding the industrial city of Severodonetsk, where fighting rages in the suburbs.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland) last week that the West’s lack of “unity” is hurting Ukraine, which “needs the support of a united Europe.”

Zelensky renewed demand for heavy weapons from his allies, claiming that the billions of dollars already delivered were insufficient to offset the strength of the Russian military.

Zelensky said, “Unity is about weapons. My question is: Is there unity in practice? I don’t understand it. Our biggest advantage against Russia is really unity.”
