German Economy Minister 02/06/2022 07:38: Reuters Time is running out for Russia

Germany needs to do more to reduce its energy dependence on Russia, but Western sanctions in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine still do a heavy damage to the Russian war machine, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Thursday.

“The Russian economy is collapsing,” Habeck told lawmakers, adding that Germany’s exports to Russia fell 60% in March and an even sharper decline is expected in April.

“Putin is still getting money, but … time is working against Russia, not in favor of Russia,” the minister said.
