“Victory will be ours” in the country’s war against Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video posted on his Instagram profile today. The conflict that started on February 24 has been 100 days today.

“State representatives have been defending Ukraine for 100 days,” said the President. The 36-second video was recorded at the Presidency’s headquarters in Kiev with Prime Minister Denys Chmygal and ruling party leader David Arakhamia.

The President was also accompanied by the chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, and one of his chief advisers, Mikhaylo Podoliak.

The video was published in line with another message Zelensky recorded at the beginning of the war, in the same place, and with his collaborators to reassure the Ukrainians.

“We are here, our army is here, citizens, society. We are all here to defend our independence, our state,” Zelensky said.

Russia controls about 20 percent of Ukraine

In a message sent to the Luxembourg Parliament yesterday, Zelensky stated that Russia controls about 20% of the country’s territory and that the front line is more than 1,000 kilometers long.

“We are fighting with almost the entire Russian army. The entire Russian armed forces are participating in the war,” said the head of state.

Although this part of the control is already under its control, Russia has slowed its progress and today this progress remains slow but steady. Russian victories were concentrated on the territory of eastern Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine expects more weapons from its allies, which Zelensky routinely requests. With them, the country says it believes in a turning point in the conflict in August.
