Ukrainian diplomacy chief Dmytro Kouleba on Saturday slammed French President Emmanuel Macron’s calls not to “embarrass” Russia, judging that this position could only “embarrass France”.

The French president reiterated on Friday that it was not necessary do not embarrass Russia – sentences are very badly seen in eastern Europe – so that on the day the fighting ceases we can make our way out through diplomatic channels.
The French president is one of several international leaders trying to maintain a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
