Calls to avoid humiliation in Russia can only embarrass France or any other country, because Russia is humiliating itself. We had better all focus on getting Russia back to its place. It will bring peace and save livessaid Mr. Kouleba in a tweet.

The French president reiterated on Friday that it was not necessary do not embarrass Russia – sentences are very badly seen in eastern Europe – so that on the day the fighting ceases we can make our way out through diplomatic channels.

France provides financial and military support to Ukraine, but Emmanuel Macron has not yet visited kyiv, while many of his European counterparts have already done so.

Forced to go to Ukraine, the French head of state, who holds the rotating presidency of the European Union until June 30, responded on Friday: To this day, I am no exception.
