The Philadelphia Police Department reported that this Saturday evening, after 11pm, it responded to several emergency calls alerting to the presence of an armed person who was shooting at a crowd.

An officer who arrived at the scene and saw a man shooting people in the city center tried to intimidate the attacker, although it is unclear whether the suspect was injured.

Subsequently, the authorities confirmed this two people died in the attack. They are a 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man.

No information is available on the condition of the injured. It has only been confirmed that no officers were injured in the attack.

Authorities said no arrests were made, although a weapon was recovered.

The police department said on Twitter that there were more injuries and asked people to stay away from the area.

The area where the shooting took place is a few blocks from the gay community neighborhood, where the streets and outdoor bars were filled with people celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Philadelphia Gay Pride, which includes a parade and festival in schedule for this Sunday.
