Prince Harry and Meghan Markel, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, shared a photo of his daughter Lilibet after celebrating her first birthday, which took place on Saturday on the occasion of the Jubilee of her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
In the image we see Lilibet, red like her father and “the eyes of the great-grandmother”, smiling at a birthday picnic hosted by the couple at Frogmore Cottage, their home in Windsor.
Prince Harry and Meghan said they were “incredibly moved” by the birthday wishes they received for their youngest daughter, who is named after the Queen (Lilibet) and her grandmother, the late Lady Di (Diana).

The photo came after they visited the UK for the Platinum Jubilee. Although the birthday was held during the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II, the Sussexes moved during the visit to the kingdom with absolute bass clef in order not to deprive the sovereign of the leading role.
The order of the Royal House to the couple was “no drama” and no cameras. The Sussexes were barely seen in public on the second day of celebrations, during Thanksgiving in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
It was their first public appearance together in Britain since 2020.

The couple were also photographed watching Trooping the Color, the massive parade outside Buckingham Palace, on the first day of the Jubilee celebrations, from a window. They were “fish” by photographers, but the couple were not part of the carriage procession or the group of working royals and their children, admitted on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Last week, the 96-year-old monarch got her first chance to meet her great-granddaughter, who was born in Santa Barbara, Californiawhere the Sussexes now live after they stopped being real.
But there has been no confirmation that the Queen met Lilibet or notor if he attended his birthday.
According to the BBC on Tuesday, the photo was taken by a family friend, Miss Harrimanat the picnic attended by family and close friends, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess said.
Lilibet, who celebrated her first birthday on Saturday, wears a blue dress with a white bow in her hair.
royal silence
BBC Royal Correspondent Sean Coughlan writes that there are no details which family was there for the party birthdays, which is consistent with Buckingham Palace’s position that such family reunions stay privateincluding any meeting with the queen.
It’s a difficult balancing act for Prince Harry and Meghan, with such intense public interest and fiercely divided surrounding them.
Sussexes are likely to be criticized if they seem to seek attention and blamed if they hide, Coughlan said.
The photos on Twitter
Harriman, a professional photographer, shared a black and white image on Twitter of Meghan holding Lilibet along with the words: “It was a privilege to celebrate Lilibet’s first birthday with my family and hers! Joy and face painting everywhere”.
Harriman had already taken black and white photos of Meghan and Harry when they announced she was pregnant with their second child.
