Two Brits and a Moroccan captured in eastern Ukraine by pro-Russian separatists they were sentenced to death this Thursday in the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk for serving as “mercenaries” who were fighting in the service of Kiev.

“The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic sentenced the British to death. Aiden Ashlin Y Shaun Pinner and the Moroccan Brahim Sa’adunaccused of having participated in the fighting as mercenaries “in the service of Ukraine”, said the official Russian news agency Tass.

The three men fought alongside Ukrainian troops and they surrendered to Russian forces a few weeks ago.

The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that the three convicts will face a firing squadeven if they have a month to appeal the sentence.
