Possible new charges
Former armed forces chief William Kaliman and police chief Yuri Calderon, both fugitives, were also sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Opponent and former centrist president Carlos Mesa (2003-2005) accused the ruling party, the Movement to Socialism (MAS), of political crime he is accused of abusing the enslavement of the judicial system.
The former head of state could also be prosecuted sedition, terrorism and conspiracy.
