In India, elephants are considered sacred animals, above all because for the Hindu culture they represent intelligence, protection and are symbols of good luck.
However, as always, there are exceptions and not everything is generalizable with everything related complex world of wild animal behavior, in this case of elephants.
For instancewith the case of an elephant who got angry and killed a 70-year-old woman in the Indian town of Raipal. And not only that, he also went to the funeral and crushed the old woman’s body.

Violent Indian elephant
Maya Murmu, the 70-year-old attacked by the elephant, was collecting water in the village of Raipal, in eastern India, when she was surprised by the animal stepping on her.
Rasgovindpur police station inspector Lopamudra Nayak told the Press Trust of India that the woman died in hospital from her injuries.
But the issue didn’t stop there. That same afternoon, the elephant returned as the 70-year-old woman’s body lay on its funeral pyre.
The animal went to the body of the old woman, stepped on it again, threw it and left during the night, according to Trust of India’s press.

How was the elephant’s journey from India?
One hypothesis is that the elephant moved from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuaryin the state of Jharkhand, 200 km from Raipal, in the state of Odisha, Mayurbhanj district.
According to local reports, the second outrage occurred while Ms. Murmu’s family was performing the last rites.
It is not known if anyone else was injured, but Murmu’s family moved on with the ceremony after the elephant left.
Elephants attack humans
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, elephants kill around 100 people in India each year, although the figure can be as high as 300.
That’s why the Indian government limits life-threatening encounters between humans and elephants by marking giants with radio collars. and alert the local population via text message when beasts roam areas populated by humans.
However, in many cases, cases are often not preventable.
The video above, which went viral, shows an elephant attacking a vehicle in South Africa in 2015.
Another more recent case, recorded last year, was that of Nichanat Manucham, a 19-year-old Thai girl, who was taking a photo with the elephant without realizing the danger in her life.
In a moment, the animal began to wrap its trunk around his leg.
In a moment of chaos, the elephant lifted her into the air and destroyed the food stalls while trying to get rid of the girla, who had clung to his fang to survive.
Miraculously, Nichanat suffered only minor injuries to his arm, while the animal was hit with a metal object during the attack to free his victim.
