Ukrainian authorities discovered another mass grave containing the bodies of civilians near Bucha, on the outskirts of the capital, Kiev, which was devastated during the Russian occupation.
According to local police, the remains of seven people were found in the mass grave in the village of Myrotske, some with their hands tied and bullet wounds in their knees.
In a statement on Facebook, Kyiv regional police chief Andrii Niebytov said the victims were “tortured”.
The province where the capital of Ukraine is located was partially occupied by Russian troops until the end of March, when Moscow decided to concentrate its forces on the conquest of Donbass in the east of the country.
Following Russia’s withdrawal, Ukrainian authorities denounced various manifestations of war crimes against the civilian population in cities such as Borodyanka, Bucha and Irpin, including corpses thrown into the streets, corpses bearing signs of torture, and mass graves with dozens of dead.
