Daniel Picazo, 31, was burned alive by an angry mob.
An angry mob of about 200 people lynched to death a former councilor of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico, in the state of Puebla (center), after accusing him of attempting to kidnap minors.
“Justice by one’s own hand is not justice, but barbarism. The competent authorities are already investigating the incident to determine responsibility,” the municipal government of Huachinango said in a statement.
Daniele Picazzo31 years old, he was beaten and burned last Friday in the community of Papatlazolco, belonging to the state of Huachinango, about 180 kilometers from Mexico Cityadded the local government.
Daniel Picazo was a former adviser to the Chamber of Deputies in Puebla, Mexico.
The police tried to rescue him but the neighbors prevented him, insisting that he was a child kidnapper.
When officers tried to get him to safety inside a patrol car, residents of that community pulled him out and forcibly took him to local sports fields. where 200 people beat him, poured gasoline on him and set him on fire while he was still alive.
The truck Picazo was traveling in was also burned. Agents from the Secretariat of State for Public Security (SSP) entered and removed the body after the residents left.
Picazo was surprised by a crowd and killed.
The mobilization of the people and the accusation against Picazo originated in telephone messaging groups, in which it was warned that an alleged criminal was in the city to kidnap minors, the statement continues.

Picazo served until March 2022 as an advisor to the Chamber of Deputiesdenounced that institution through a note he posted on social networks to complain about the murder.
He works primarily with lawmakers from the National Action Party (PAN, conservative), a political group that has also spread condolences to Daniel Picazo’s family on the networks and called for justice.
These types of crimes are not new to Mexico and are recorded in remote locations, where state security forces take time to arrive.
Picazo was 31 years old.
One of the most dramatic cases also occurred in Puebla in 2019, when seven men were beaten and burned to death.
That year 43 people died and 173 were injured in lynchings, the National Human Rights Commission said in a report.
