The United States government said this Friday (17) that the double murder of British journalist Dom Philips and Brazilian native Bruno Pereira in the Vale do Javari region of western Amazonas must be held to account.

“We call for accountability and justice – we need to collectively strengthen efforts to protect environmental advocates and journalists,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Twitter.
