Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in his speech today that he will further strengthen his Armed Forces. The country decided to invade Ukrainian territory at the end of February and is experiencing tensions with other neighboring countries such as Finland and Sweden due to possible NATO membership (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).

We will continue to develop and strengthen our Armed Forces, taking into account possible military threats and risks. Vladimir Putin in a televised speech

Putin added that the newly tested Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles, capable of carrying 10 or more nuclear warheads, will be deployed to fight by the end of the year.

Russia on Monday (20) intensified its attacks on the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions in northeastern and eastern Ukraine, a few days before the 27 EU countries (European Union) discussed Kiev’s candidacy for the bloc.

EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said at the start of a week of intense activity around Ukraine’s candidacy for the European bloc, Russia committed a “true war crime” by blocking Ukraine’s grain and grain exports.

At a time when fears are mounting about the consequences of the invasion on food prices, Germany is holding an international meeting on the subject Friday, which will be attended by the head of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken.
