Video: Miraculous emergency landing in Miami

A commercial aircraft carrying 150 passengers and 11 crew memberscaught fire after the emergency landing Tuesday at Miami International Airport when the front landing gear collapsed. Three people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

After the landing gear of the Red Air flight arriving from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic collapsed, the MD-82 passenger plane caught fire. Miami-Dade Aviation Department spokesman Greg Chin said the three people taken to the hospital sustained minor injuries.

The plane, a limited liability company Red Aircaught fire after making a forced landing which, according to 7 News Miami, caused the fire and hit a communications tower and a small building on the runway.

Images from local channel 10 showed columns of black smoke rising from an area of ​​the MIA shortly after 5:45 pm local time and much of the aircraft’s fuselage and floor covered with foam sprayed by firefighters.

The National Transportation Safety Board reported that a team would arrive at the airport on Wednesday to investigate the conditions under which the fire occurred.

Miami-Dade firefighters explained that the firefighters had controlled the fire and were mitigating the spill of fuel so that the situation does not get worse.

Red Air is an airline from the Dominican Republic that began operations in November 2021.
