The news was confirmed by the Deputy Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Carlos Pérez Ampueda, who specified that the damaged plane, type Learjet YV3304, was heading towards Puerto Cabello, on the central Venezuelan coast.

The official explained that the deceased are crew members Guillermo Vargas and Milton Quigua, and four passengers identified as Aldo Camacho, Juan Barajas, Ronald Camacho and sports leader Christian Toni.

Pérez Ampueda assured that members of the Civil Protection and firefighters carried out rescue and extinguishing tasks of the fire generated by the aircraft’s precipitation. In parallel, he insured it “Investigations continue to determine the causes of the accident.”
