Emma Prince, 34, a beautician, said she was banned from eating at a restaurant in England on the hottest day of the year because she was wearing a tank top. According to her account, an employee said she couldn’t eat while wearing “inappropriate” clothing.
The reality came on Friday (17), a day that was stiflingly hot by European standards. The top Emma wore was rated a bra by the facility.
“I said it was a hill and it was over 30 degrees, but I was told ‘this is a restaurant and we have a policy,'” the British woman told The Sun.
Emma reported that she was forced to cover herself by the employee and as possible retaliation, she was placed on a table in direct sunlight, where she ordered a hamburger for herself and a bowl of macaroni and cheese for her two-year-old daughter.
Also, according to her, since the food took some time to be served, the woman canceled the order and went to eat at a fast food restaurant with her daughter.
“They deliberately brought in everyone’s wishes except ours,” the beautician said.
But Emma was even more shocked when other patrons at Wolverton House Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery in Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire, England) were wearing “almost nothing” in the garden of the restaurant where they were drinking beer.
According to her, there were kids running around in just diapers, moms wearing “sexy jeans” and dads shirtless, while she had to cover herself in a satin shirt.
Emma’s friend Danielle Fitzgerald was also wearing a cropped top, but she didn’t need to cover it because the top suspenders were thicker, according to the employee.
The beautician now says she will never go back to the establishment after what happened.
