Reuters BRICS supported Russia-Ukraine talks, made a statement after the summit

The BRICS group of developing countries said it supports talks between Russia and Ukraine after its summit via videoconference on Thursday, according to a text of a statement published on the Kremlin website.

The BRICS consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Russia has turned to other BRICS members to replace some of the trade ties that have been severed by the sweeping Western sanctions imposed on the country in response to its decision to send a large contingent of troops to Ukraine.
