Two victims and at least 14 seriously injured was the tragic balance left by a shooting that took place a few meters from the London Pub, a popular gay bar located in the heart of the capital of Norway, Oslo.

The shots were recorded in the early hours of this Saturday morning (local time), according to the police, who acted promptly and, five minutes after receiving the alert, the only suspect arrested and seized two weapons.

“So far, everything indicates that there was only one person who committed this act,” Tore Barstad, a police spokesperson, said at a news conference.

It also indicated that a extensive operation with several reinforcement agents in town to deal with other possible incidents. He avoided answering if it was a terrorist attack.

Security officers met to analyze the impact this attack could have on celebration of the Pride celebrations organized this Saturday in the afternoon in Oslo.

Two people died in the shooting. Among the 14 injured, eight were taken to hospital and the others were treated on the spot by medical services.

He seemed very determined where he was aiming.. When I realized it was serious, I ran away. There was a bloody man lying on the ground, “said a young woman who witnessed the shooting while talking to the Verdens Gang (VG) newspaper.

Another of the people consulted by that newspaper assured that the attacker used an automatic weapon, information that has not been confirmed by the police. “There were many people on the ground who suffered head injuries.. It was a war scene, “she recalled.

For its part, a reporter from the public broadcaster NRK involved in the tragedy explained that the attacker he took his gun out of a bag and began firing at close range and without saying a word.
