mall attack
Ukraine also accused Russia today of attacking a shopping mall in Kremenchuk.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram that more than 1,000 people were in the mall at the time of the attack.
He did not elaborate on the deaths, but said it was “impossible to imagine the number of victims”. “It is in vain to expect kindness and humanity from Russia,” he wrote.
Kyrylo Timochenko, vice-president of the Ukrainian presidential administration, said at least two people were killed and 20 injured, nine seriously. “Rescue operations are ongoing,” Timochenko also said on Telegram.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared Zelensky’s account on social media with a video in which the shopping center was engulfed in flames and thick dark smoke rose from the site. The publication says, “The occupiers fired rockets at the shopping center where there are more than a thousand civilians. The shopping center is on fire, the rescue teams are responding to the fire, it is impossible to imagine the number of dead.”
