Abortion in the United States: Joe Biden called the Supreme Court ruling

US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that the Supreme Court’s decision against the right to abortion is “destabilizing”, while adding that does not affect the prestige of the United States on the world stage.

“The United States is better positioned than ever to lead the worldBiden said at a NATO summit in Madrid.

“But one issue that has been disturbing is the US Supreme Court’s unusual conduct in overturning not only Roe v. Wade but fundamentally also threaten the right to privacyBiden added.

Biden made the remarks at the end of a five-day trip in which he met with NATO allies in Madrid and with the leaders of the G7 in the Bavarian Alps, a sign that your country is still facing the fallout from last Friday’s Supreme Court decision.

For Biden, the NATO summit was “historic”

The three-day summit included Biden’s announcement of plans to permanently strengthen the US military presence in Europe, an agreement between Turkey, Finland and Sweden to pave the way for Nordic nations to join NATOand the update of the strategic concept of the alliance which reflects the idea that China’s “coercive policies” are a challenge to the interests of the Western bloc.

“I think we all agree that this was the case a historic NATO summitBiden said, addressing reporters at a closing press conference of the summit.

Biden noted that the last time NATO updated its strategic concept, 12 years ago, Russia was characterized as a partner and the document didn’t even mention China. The new document produced at the top changes things.

“The world has changed, a lot has changed since then,” Biden said. “This summit sought to strengthen our alliancesto address the challenges of our world today and the threats we will face in the future, “Biden said.
