Riaan Naude, the hunter infamous for killing hundreds of wild animals was shot in the head. Naude posed with dead lions, giraffes and rhinos and supported poaching.
Police found the hunter’s body inside his car in Limpopo, South Africa. The international media realize that Naude was preparing to continue with the practice. Inside the vehicle they found whiskey, shotguns, water and sleeping clothes, among other items.
Wildlife advocate Julio César Martínez, clearly opposed to hunting, was one of the first to confirm Naude’s murder. He indicated that the man was assaulted while he was inside his car.

According to what was established in the note shared by Martínez, the hunter was killed “in cold blood” and in “execution mode”. Likewise, it is stated that the alleged culprits were two men traveling in a white van, but of which no further information is available, so there are no inmates.
Naude, 55, lived in Phalaborwa, South Africa. She was part of the Eco Safari and Pro Hunt Africa team, a group dedicated to attracting tourists to “their dream” of hunting animals in their natural state.

Poachers killed a total of 451 rhinos in 2021 in South Africa; of which, 327 died in publicly owned nature reserves and parks and 124 on private property, according to the official budget published (February 8) by the South African Ministry of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
