Jayland Walker, 25, was reportedly shot and killed 60 times, according to his lawyer. He was killed last Monday while fleeing from police following an attempted arrest on foot following a car chase.

Extremely violent video released by police on Sunday shows the man coming under police fire.

For Derrick Johnson, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), this death is “murder.”

Akron said, “This black man… was killed for a possible traffic violation. This is not the case for the white population in the United States.” said.

Hundreds of people marched to Akron City Hall on Sunday in the fourth day of demonstrations, which became tense today as some protesters approached the police cordon.

Protesters caused some disturbance as police, who used tear gas to disperse the crowd, burned trash cans and damaged their equipment.

Authorities in Akron released two videos today after providing little information about the shooting: one was a compilation of the body camera, photos and audio, and the second was the full recording.

The audio in the video explains that Walker didn’t stop. Police said shots were fired from inside the vehicle.

Commander Steve Mylett said the coroner’s report had 60 injuries on Walker’s body that matched his lawyer’s version. The police officers involved in the events were suspended until the end of the judicial investigation.
