A suspect who fled for hours was finally caught.
Chicago police in the United States reported on Monday (7/4) that they arrested 22-year-old Robert E. Crimo, accused of being responsible for the July 4 shooting that killed at least six people and injured more than 30. (Independence Day) celebration on the outskirts of the city.
The motivations behind the attack are unknown.
At a press conference, police said he was caught in north Chicago after a police officer tried to stop him during a traffic stop when he failed. The young man tried to escape, but was soon arrested near Lake Forest, Illinois.

The American press said that Crimo resides in Chicago and posts rap songs on his social networks.
“Bobby Crimo (…) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and director from Chicago,” writes a self-titled profile on the IMDB platform specializing in film and entertainment. Authorities have not officially confirmed whether the profile really belongs to him.

Filming took place during one of the traditional US Independence Day parades celebrated on July 4.
Local media say hundreds of people fill the city’s sidewalks to watch floats, marching bands and performances.
The gunman opened fire from the roof of a camping equipment store at around 10:15 am local time, just minutes after the incident started. It is believed to have fired a high powered rifle.
