Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized the broadcast on a French television channel on Wednesday of a speech between the country’s presidents Vladimir Putin and French Emmanuel Macron, four days before the start of the Moscow offensive in Ukraine.
During his visit to Vietnam, Lavrov said, “Diplomatic etiquette does not allow for the unilateral leaking of records (such).” said.
The tense nine-minute phone call between Macron and Putin is reported in a France 2 documentary that shows the French president mediating the conflict.
Lavrov said that Russia has nothing to be ashamed of because of the content of the meeting between the two leaders.
“In principle, we conduct the negotiations in such a way that it is never something to be ashamed of. We always speak our mind, we are ready to return our word and explain our position,” he said.
