A Fox terrier of metallic fur called Funfair Foxhouse was chosen as the best dog in the world overall (BIS, Best in Show) during the final of World Dog Show held days ago in Madrid.

Funfair Foxhouse has competed with more than 16,500 dogs of over 250 breeds from the five continents.
Funfair Foxhouse was chosen as the best dog in the world. It won the highest prize: prestige.
To reach the final, organized by the Royal Canine Society of Spain, the competing dogs had to overtake several tests of morphology, sociability or workin classifications based on multiple criteria: first be the best of each race by genderafter each match (men and women), after each group to definitively prevail over the group winners in the grand final.
The silver was taken from an English bulldog named “Amen Ra Palo Seco” and bronze, a miniature wirehaired dachshund named “Bottom Shaker the most beautiful image”the organizers of the event report in a press release.
Before being chosen as the best dog in the world, Funfair Foxhouse wiped out his breed: the fox terriers.
In fourth place, a miniature wirehaired dachshund bitch named Almarxils Tuatara, whose breeder and owner is Spanish. Noel Garrigos Mateo. Almarxils was already third at the 2021 World Dog Show in Brno (Czech Republic) and this year was named both Dog of the Year in Spain and seller of the Arion Gala for the best dog of the year.
All of them, and tens of thousands more, competed in these four days, starting the competition by groups or races, continuing for each of the eight categories (depending on age) and ends with the choice of the BIS.
The procession was inaugurated by Queen Sofia. During her visit, Doña Sofía, already present at the other two World Dog Shows held in Spain: Madrid (1983) and Valencia (1992), greeted dozens of people who introduced her to their pets.
