X-rays showed the level of “severe penile fracture” presented by the man who arrived at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital in Java.
An unfortunate Indonesian man was diagnosed with one rare condition of the penis, called “eggplant deformity”, after fracturing his manhood while having sex with his wife. His massive injury was detailed as a witness case in International journal of surgical cases.
“We present a clinical case of severe penile fracture linked to sexual relations “, reads the July report on the phallic problem suffered by the man, whose identity, obviously, has not been revealed.
The 50-year-old patient presented himself to the Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, claiming that his penis had been swollen for four hours after a scrotal sac accident. According to the study, the man had had sex with his wife when heard a “crack”after which he lost his erection and suffered from urethral bleeding and inability to ejaculate.
The radiographs showed that in addition to a “severe penile fracture”, the patient had a rupture of the urethra due to the violence exerted during the sexual act.
Further examination revealed this his penis had turned purple and has been severely skewed to the right like a question mark, as seen in the graphic photographs included in the case study.
Meanwhile, the mutilated member also had a hematoma and a blood clotwhich ran from the tip of the penis to the scrotum, as well as a broken urethrawhich could have hindered the flow of urine if left untreated.
Contrast imaging is the key to diagnosing penile injuries resulting from intense sexual intercourse.
Doctors diagnosed it “eggplant deformity”, where the penis is twisted due to blunt trauma during intercourse. This usually occurs after the member “falls out of the vagina during intercourse” e affect the female genitals, according to a case study published in 2015 in the Medical Journal Armed Forces India. Also, the deformity of eggplant can cause permanent disfigurement and impotence if left untreated.
To reconstruct the man’s deformed member, doctors opened the penis and repaired the fractured urethra and penile tissue. with soluble points, according to the study. They then drained the hematoma and then tested its penile function with a “artificial erection”.
The case, now known, occurred last January. Fortunately, the patient’s penis passed the erection test and after four months he had no more complications. He was fully straightened, albeit with a slight right turn. After five days in the hospital, the patient was discharged with a urethral catheter through which he had to urinate for the next 21 days.
“I am satisfied with the results, i can ejaculate and sexually interact with my wife without feeling any discomfort, “the man said, according to the study published by doctors.
