The turbulent political situation in Sri Lanka took an even deeper turn this Saturday as a crowd of thousands of protesters stormed the presidential residence. calling for the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to protest his handling of the economic crisis.
Protesters broke through the security perimeter surrounding Rajapaksa’s official residence in the heart of Colombo, despite police using tear gas to prevent the intrusion.
