Vitaliy Kim, head of Mykolaiv’s military administration, said today a series of Russian attacks on the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv destroyed two local universities before the academic year began, making restoration “impossible”.
Kim and the city’s mayor, Oleksandr Syenkevych, said at least 10 Russian missiles hit the city in the latest in a series of tensions in southern Ukraine.
“Today Russia-Terror attacked the 2 largest universities in Mykolayiv. At least 10 missiles. Now they are attacking our education. I ask the universities of all democratic countries to claim that Russia is a terrorist, as it really is,” wrote Vitaliy. Kim broadcasting the video of the attack.
Russian authorities have not yet made a statement about the allegations.
Vitaliy Kim claimed in a video that five S-300 missiles hit the National Shipbuilding University (National University of Shipbuilding) and four of them targeted the National University of Mykolaiv.
In Telegram, Kim made a comparison with the assumption that a Russian university was destroyed, noting that he studied at the Mykolaiv National University, saying that the naval university was one of the few shipbuilding universities in the post-Soviet era:
“I wonder why they blocked access to ports, to the sea. Now they are destroying the only ports and naval universities that exist in Ukraine. How would they react if 5 missiles hit Saint Petersburg University now?” , Wrote..
In addition to universities, two houses and eleven apartments in an apartment were also affected by the explosions.
