The mind of a patricide
The profile of a parricide speaks most often of adults in whom there is a high prevalence of psychiatric pathology, especially schizophrenia and use of drugs or alcohol.
A second type of profile speaks of adolescents with different psychosocial situations: a severely abused child, a child with a severe mental illness – such as psychosis or mental retardation – or a dangerously antisocial young person.
Among their characteristics, people with a tendency to commit parricide are usually the control, they do not feel any kind of regret, they have no moral principles, they have social irresponsibility and contempt for the rights of others. In turn, they often find it difficult to comply with the rules and are not self-critical. Their behaviors tend to be violent and they are emotionally cold.
