“We have recovered 20 bodies so far,” a local government official, Aslam Tasleem, told Geo News TV.

According to him, about 30 more people are missing.

“We are not sure exactly how many people were on the boat. We are only getting estimates based on reports from family members,” he said.

About 35 divers from a state rescue service joined in to find and rescue more people in the river, the statement said.
