A leader who is doing wonderfully. CIA Director William Burns has claimed that Vladimir Putin is “too healthy”, debunking rumors that his condition was worsening, reports the UK’s Sky News channel.
“What we can say is that he is too healthy,” he replied after being asked about the Russian president’s state of health.
However, the US official, speaking at the Aspen Security Forum, clarified that his statement should not be taken as a “formal intelligence judgement.”
kremlin denial
This statement comes the day after a trip by the Russian president to Iran, where he met with his counterpart Ebrahim Raisi as well as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A visit in a context of international isolation for Russia due to the war in Ukraine that has been going on for almost five months.
Several hypotheses have been circulating since the beginning of the conflict about the state of health of Vladimir Putin. Last June, it was the American weekly news week which claimed that the Russian president had received treatment for cancer. Two months earlier, the Russian independent media Project announced that the master of the Kremlin suffered from thyroid cancer.
However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied this information, saying there were “no signs of any illness or disease of any kind” on Vladimir Putin.
