Karine Jean-Pierre, spokesperson for US President Joe Biden, announced on Thursday that she had tested positive for Covid-19 and had very mild symptoms.

The team said Biden took Pfizer’s anti-covid pill Paxlovid and will be isolated in the White House until it comes back negative.

Jean-Pierre announced that the president, who is fully vaccinated and given two booster shots, will “continue to assume all his duties” during this period.

On social media, the President of the United States thanked everyone for their concerns and assured him that he was fine.

“I’m doing great. Thanks for your attention. I just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright and Mayor Cognetti and apologized for missing our event today,” Biden said.
