Donald Trump has criticized the congressional commission investigating his supporters’ attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, calling it a “fake court”. Tycoon claimed that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, again without proof.

At Thursday night’s hearing, the commission accused the former Republican president of “not doing his duty” at the time of the attack and decided that he should be held legally responsible for it.

Trump seems to have followed the session closely because he later reacted with a series of posts on the Truth Social network he created after being banned from Twitter.

The Republican, who plans to run in the 2024 election, denounced the “lies” of a “corrupt and very partisan” commission.

Trump also questioned why the Congressional group did not ask a former White House official from the Secret Service to corroborate statements that Trump tried to get behind the wheel of a limo driver on January 1 to join protesters. “Because they know the answer and they don’t like it,” he objected.

He reiterated that the 2020 presidential election was “cheated” and “robbed me and our country”, despite courts rejecting multiple attempts to prove the alleged fraud.

Trump: “America is in hell. Should I be happy?” she asked.

On Thursday night, commissioners concluded a series of high-profile hearings dedicating two and a half hours of Donald Trump’s day to January 6, 2021, describing his day “by the minute.”

The businessman was criticized for following the violence of his supporters for three hours with no reaction and “violating his duty as head of state”.

The protesters aimed to block confirmation of the victory of their Democratic rival Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
