The White House wants to be reassuring about the health of the American president, when he tests positive for the coronavirus.

The state of health of US President Joe Biden, positive for Covid since Thursday, continues to improve, his personal doctor assured this Sunday in a letter released by the White House.

“Her symptoms continue to improve a lot,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote. “Her most prominent symptom of his now is a sore throat,” he added, seeing it as an “encouraging” sign.

Joe Biden appears to have had mild symptoms, and the White House has gone to great lengths to reassure him about his health and ability to govern, even in confinement.

At 79 years old, the president – who received a complete vaccine – falls into the category of people at risk of developing a serious case of the disease. For this reason, he is being treated with Paxlovid, an anti-Covid pill from Pfizer, a drug that “he continues to tolerate well,” his doctor said.
