A single ticket sold in the US state of Illinois beat all odds against e won the $ 1.28 billion Mega Millions jackpotin the long-awaited draw on Friday that he delivered the second largest jackpot in history of that lottery.
The winning numbers were: 13-36-45-57-67 Mega Ball: 14.
In addition to being the second largest prize in Mega Millions history, the amount of money accumulated was the third largest in US lottery history and the largest in nearly four years.
The premium was so high because in the last 29 consecutive draws held from April 15th none of the tickets sold had all six winning numbers. The latest winner was a player from Tennessee.

A Mega Millions spokesperson confirmed that at least one ticket with all five numbers and the Mega Ball was sold in Illinois. The state lottery website showed that the ticket was sold at a lottery located on the 4250 Freeway in Des Plaines.
“Any additional information is pending as Mega Millions completes the process between participating lotteries. Once completed, we will post a statement on the Mega Millions website,” the spokesperson added.
The $ 1.28 billion premium goes to winners who choose the option to receive it in 30 annual installments over 29 yearsbut almost all opt for the single cash payment option, which for this draw had an estimated amount of 747.2 million.
The prize drawn on Friday is the second largest prize in the 20-year history of Mega Millions, behind only the record of $ 1,537 million won on 23 October 2018.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states plus Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands, and the draw is coordinated by state lotteries.
