The remains of the Chinese rocket Long March 5B dropped at 16.50 GMT this Saturday -13.50 from Argentina- in Indian Ocean after taking off on July 24 from the island of Hainan with the aim of transporting a module to the Chinese orbital space station, the “Tiangong. “

As reported by the EFE agency Jorge Lomba, head of the space department of the Spanish Center for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI), this Chinese rocket hit the Indian Ocean after a uncontrolled return in the atmosphere, where it is most likely to be “disintegrated“.

Lomba warned that this type of reentry into the atmosphere of rockets in the United States and Europe occurs in a “controlled” manner, so you know, in case it does not disintegrate, where it falls.

The long march 5B, with a mass estimated about 20 tonsit was traveling uncontrolled at a speed of 28,000 kilometers per hour.

It is not the first time that a Chinese ship has been observed by the international community.

In May last year, it was also a Long March 5B rocket that alerted surveillance services around the world. It ended up disintegrating almost completely and the remains fell into the Indian Ocean, without causing damage.

Three years earlier, in April 2018, the orbital laboratory of Tiangong 1 was also monitored, which had been in disuse since 2016 and was wandering uncontrollably in space. It eventually re-entered Earth’s atmosphere in the South Pacific Ocean, albeit without causing harm.
