A volcano in southwestern Iceland exploded on Wednesday 3, authorities said, just eight months after completing the most recent.
The Icelandic Meteorological Bureau has asked the public to do this do not get close to the Fagradalsfjall volcanowhich is located approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) southwest of the capital, Reykjavik.

Magma gushing from a crack
Live video from the eruption site showed magma gushing from a narrow 100 to 200 meter long fissure on a lava field left by last year’s eruption. the first in the Reykjanes Peninsula in nearly 800 years.
Scientists had predicted an eruption on the peninsula after a series of earthquakes in the past week that indicated volcanic activity near the earth’s crust.
Volcanologist Magnus Tumi Gudmundsson told The Associated Press that the eruption appeared to be small.
