Israel would have accepted a proposed truce offered by Egypt to resolve the current escalation of attacks in the Gaza Strip, where about 31 Palestinians, including six children, have died, according to information published by the AFP agency.
A leading Egyptian source confirmed that Israel accepted the negotiation. “The Israeli side agreed,” the source said, adding that Egypt awaited a Palestinian responseafter three days of bloody clashes between the Palestinian group of Islamic Jihad and Israel.

The possible truce comes amid a revival of the historical conflict, where the clashes that started on Friday are the worst between Israel and armed organizations in Gaza since the 11-day war in May 2021. 260 people on the Palestinian side and 14 in Israel died in that conflict, according to authorities.
