Donald Trump’s cries of indignation over the raid on his Florida home overshadow the reason behind the FBI’s search for the luxurious home: the alleged crime of having taken from White House classified documents. Trump is now demanding that that search warrant be published immediately.

But Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, head of the US Department of Justice, had already announced efforts to prove this Thursday, admitting that he was the one who signed the search warrant.

the attorney general of the United States, on Thursday made maneuvers to make public the legal authorization for the FBI search of the former president’s home in Palm Beach.

Garland did not provide details.

But a person briefed on the matter told the New York Times that investigators were concerned about the material of what the government calls. “special access programs”a designation generally reserved for highly sensitive operations conducted by the United States overseas or for closed domain technologies and capabilities.

Trump allegedly took home the documentation relating to these issues. Documentation that by law must go to the National Archives once the president has completed his term.

Trump’s request

Trump demanded late Thursday that the search warrant used by the FBI to search his Florida property be released “immediately”.

He made the request hours later from the Justice Department itself ask a court to disclose the warrant and even Ghirlanda he cited the “substantial public interest in this matter”.

In messages posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Not only will I not oppose the release of the documents … I am taking it one step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of these documents.” He criticized the FBI operation again on your Mar-a-Lago property by qualifying it as “un-American, unwarranted and unnecessary”.

“Release the documents immediately!” he wrote, without mentioning the matter of confidential texts that he allegedly brought into his house illegally.

The Department of Justice request was filed hours earlier Thursday it was remarkable because such documents traditionally remain sealed pending investigations, but the agency seemed to recognize that its silence after the search had created an opportunity for the former president and his allies to launch attacks.

Garland found it prudent to respond to widespread requests for details about what led to Monday’s FBI raid on the former president’s home.

“The clear and powerful interest of the public to understand what happened in these circumstances weighs heavily in favor of openness” said a motion filed Thursday in a Florida federal court to request the seal be removed.

If the order is released – the question is now in the hands of a judge – it may reveal information unflatteringso much on the former president What under consideration by the FBI on how Trump handled sensitive government documents, just as he prepares to seek another race for the White House.

During his successful 2016 campaign, Trump himself insisted that andThe FBI will conduct an investigation against its Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, about mishandling confidential information.

It is not clear at this time how much information would be included in the documents, if made public, or would include an FBI affidavit that would presumably establish a detailed factual basis for the research.

The Department specifically requested that the order be disclosed, as well as a receipt lists the items seizedalong with two unspecified attachments.

Garland said it personally approved the order, a decision the Department said did not take it lightly since the standard practice, where possible, is to select less intrusive tactics than a home search.

In this case, according to an expert on the case, there was a substantial compromise with Trump and his representatives. before the search warrantalso a convocation for records and a visit to Mar-a-Lago a couple of months ago by FBI agents and Department of Justice officials to assess how the documents were filed.

Neither Trump nor the FBI said anything. what documents he may have collected the Federal Agency or exactly what the agents were looking for, but on Thursday the former president complained again about the raid.
