US President Joe Biden on Saturday condemned the “brutal attack” against Salman Rushdie, who is fighting for his life in the hospital after being stabbed in New York, and stressed that the writer represents values such as defending the freedom of expression.
In a statement, the president said yes “shocked and saddened” by the “brutal attack” against the writer, and assured that, along with his wife, Jill Biden, he is “praying for the health and healing” of Rushdie.
