Victim not yet identified
A background check will be conducted on the man in question, who has not been identified.
It did not appear to be directed at members of Congress, who are currently on furlough, Capitol Police said.
This building has been under high protection since the attack on January 6, 2021 by supporters of Donald Trump who were protesting against the results of the presidential election. The same goes for the Supreme Court, particularly since its decision to strike down the constitutional right to abortion.
