Two babies, one of them a year and a half, were discovered on Sunday night between backpacks in a Belgian water park, the newspaper reports. Het Laatste Nieuws. The two children were found lying on the ground by an employee of the Plopsaqua amusement park in Landen-Hannuit, in the center of the country, where customers leave backpacks unattended.
“They didn’t look very healthy,” a witness at the scene told the newspaper. According to him, one of the babies seemed unconscious when they found him trapped in the middle of the bags.
Water park staff, searching for the parents, called emergency services and the police. The two children were hospitalized to determine their health status.
Parents found in the park.
An investigation was opened, but the police were able to find the two parents after about twenty minutes of investigation, inside the park.
“They were furious because they had called an ambulance, but given the children’s health, it was the only thing that could be done,” explains Gino Debroux, mayor of Landen.
