An accident caused a Lamborghini Aventador to explode and three people were hospitalized yesterday in England, one seriously. According to the British tabloid Daily Star, the £270,000 (about R$1.6 million) vehicle was owned by the company specializing in supercar rental Platinum Executive Travel.
According to police, the Lamborghini driver entered lane 25 to access the middle lane of the highway and was side-slammed by a Mazda CX5 that was already on the road. After the collision, both vehicles caught fire. An investigation will be conducted to determine the speed of the vehicles and the responsibility of the accident.
One of the passengers in the luxury car was taken to the hospital with the risk of death, while the driver was slightly injured. The driver of the other vehicle, a Mazda SUV, was treated for simple maintenance, but is in good condition. The identities of those involved in the incident have not been released.
The accident caused heavy traffic on the Manchester road. The car rental company confirmed ownership of the vehicle and declined to comment.
West Yorkshire Police “arrived” to cooperate with other drivers who witnessed the incident. “Police are using witnesses or car video footage of two vehicles colliding on the M62 and a occupant in one of the cars being life-threatening.”
