US President Joe Biden spoke publicly for the first time this Wednesday (24) about the Justice Department and FBI’s operation against his predecessor Donald Trump, saying he knew nothing beforehand.

“I didn’t get any preliminary information – nothing, zero, not a piece,” he told reporters who questioned him.

The statement follows the same line made by the White House that no senior official in the current Democratic administration was aware of the operation before it took place, and that the Justice Department is an “independent body.”

The questioning of the president stems from Trump repeatedly saying that Biden “knows everything” and is behind the operation at his Mar-a-Lago mansion on August 8.

Biden’s statement comes a day before the US court released more information about the operation and what led agents to the Republican official residence.

According to information already disclosed, including a court order regarding the operation, the FBI went to Trump’s house to retrieve classified documents that needed to be filed in Washington. For this reason, the former representative is being investigated for violations of espionage legislation, obstruction of justice and the destruction or destruction of official records.

Of the 20 boxes containing the seized documents, photographs and other items, four boxes were found: “top secret”, three “secret” and three “secret”.
