Pope Francis received a group of Catholic nuns at the Vatican this Friday (26), asking them to “be aware” of the so-called “midlife crisis.”

“Older women can witness an undiminished lethargy to young women, a recognition that grows with age, an acceptance of the Word that becomes more complete than ever. In silence, they learn to resonate with the Word, they let themselves be surprised,” he said.

“And middle-aged people. What are they doing? They’re at greater risk. What if it’s a passing age, there are some pitfalls… 40, 45 crisis, you know. But most of all, because it’s one of the phases of greater responsibility and it’s easy to fall into activism without realizing it. .And no longer women of the Word, but women of the computer, the telephone, the agenda… , this motto is open to everyone: to return to the school of Mary, to focus on the Word again and to be women who love beyond measure,” he added.

The Pope also made an appeal to religious congregations that met him, as he always made, “don’t be tempted by gossip” because it “kills societies”.
