A man was killed Monday by a lion at the Accra Zoo, Ghana’s capital, after entering the cat’s enclosure, the government agency in charge of protecting wild animals announced.

The lion, lioness and their two cubs were temporarily placed in a cage while the carcass was removed from its enclosure.
The reasons that led this man to enter the premises remain to be determined. The zoo asked the police to open an investigation.
