US military commands said on Monday that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will meet with his counterparts from allied countries on September 8 to discuss support for Ukraine in the war against Russia in Germany.
The face-to-face meeting of the “Ukraine Defense Contact Group” will include senior military commanders who will meet at the American base in Ramstein.
The Pentagon chief “reinvites defense ministers and military commanders from around the world to discuss the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and the various security challenges facing America’s allies and partners,” the statement said.
At a time when conflicts continue in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he wanted to liberate “all Russian-occupied territories”, including the peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
