Splinter Sales, who describes himself in the newspaper as a rapper, says he was not arrested at the end of this police visit.
“I don’t know what they were looking for, but nothing happened to me,” he says.
He recorded the moment, which has since gone viral on Tik Tok, where Boris Johnson can be seen in the hallway of his accommodation, smiling and asking “how are you?”

In reality, Boris Johnson was witnessing a series of interventions by British violence reduction units. A few days before his departure from Downing Street, the prime minister welcomed the recruitment of an additional 20,000 police to “make our streets safer”.
In a press release issued before the Splinter Sales video was released, the Metropolitan Police said the morning raid was a targeted operation to crack down on drug trafficking.
A spokesperson confirmed that no arrests were made, but Class B drugs and paraphernalia, and a phone were seized for the investigation. There is no evidence that any of these items belonged to Splinter Sales, who lives in shared accommodation.
As for his meeting with Boris Johnson, the young man considered it “very close” and added: “I think he was delighted to see me!”.
