Japanese officials said a Brazilian is suspected of killing his wife of 29 and their three-year-old daughter in Japan and fleeing to Brazil. The lawsuit took place in a housing project in the Higashi district of Sakai city from August 20 to 21.

Osaka Prefectural Police released footage of Anderson Robson Barbosa, 33, named as the prime suspect in the crime. According to the Japanese newspaper The Mainichi, the organization is considering enlisting him as an international fugitive.

Manami Aramaki, 29, and Lily, 3, died after being stabbed in the chest and neck in their apartment. Police found a blood-stained kitchen knife in the room where the victims’ bodies were found.

The death was discovered after Manami’s father called the police on August 24 and said she had not been in contact with her daughter or husband since August 22.

Police believe Barbosa escaped to Brazil after the crime.

According to a source heard by the Japanese newspaper, Barbosa called his workplace twice on August 22, claiming he was injured after a bicycle accident. At that time, he even asked for a two-week leave. Since then, he has not been seen again.

The police determined from the security camera footage that the Brazilian got on the train on the morning of August 21.

He would spend time in Nanba in Osaka and then buy a plane ticket back to Brazil. Investigations confirmed that Barbosa flew into Narita International Airport, east of Tokyo, the next night.

According to the Japanese newspaper, Barbosa and Manami had been married for about three years and lived in the apartment where the crime was committed for two months.

The Brazilian is on the run and no lawyer on his behalf has presented himself to the Brazilian or Japanese authorities.
